Update to 1.61 ready!

Hey everyone! SCS Software has packed update 1.61 with some genuinely valuable and much-needed stuff.

Among them, I especially want to call out the new flywheel_inertia parameter. Personally, I’ve been waiting years to be able to add proper flywheel inertia tuning to engines. In reality, power units on different trucks rev at different speeds -some spin up quick, others sluggishly-whereas the default game inertia always felt way too slow. For instance, on the MAN TGX, the engine revs pretty lively, probably faster than most other trucks out there. Now I’ve dialed in this setting for MAN and other models with high precision, basing it strictly on real-life reference videos.

Another awesome parameter is cold_start_rpm, which is going to be super useful specifically for American trucks. When I was recording engine sounds for the Cummins N14 and DD60, I noticed that right after a cold start, the idle smoothly drops as the engine warms up-roughly from 950 down to the standard 700 RPM.

European trucks handle the warm-up cycle differently: after startup, the ECU bumps up the revs (to around 850, for example) and holds them there until the engine warms up and the air system builds full pressure. At least on the Renault Premium or Magnum, you don’t get that smooth drop-off.

On top of that, upcoming expansions bringing support for buses, cars, and pickups (as part of the future Road Trip project) open up a ton of exciting possibilities. I've actually been recording bus sounds for quite a while now in preparation for the upcoming Coaches DLC. I’ve already got plenty of raw material in the bag-both modern Euro 6 units and older classics, like the legendary Mercedes OM303 or the newer, popular Setra S 431. What else I end up recording will largely depend on what the community wants to see, and since there’s so much fascinating transit out there in Ukraine, both old and new, the options are massive.

A huge thank you to everyone for the support, comments, and suggestions! Unfortunately, new releases are infrequent for the time being, but I am working hard on the sounds—I never stop or pause my work.

The sound of the fan inside the cabin has been improved to better match that of a real truck. Now, the sound of the engines with the fan inside the cabin is slightly more subdued.

Fixed a bug that prevented players from purchasing the Renault Magnum from Knox_xss.

In the update coming out next week, these four sound sets will undergo changes and improvements, including updated torque characteristics, new flywheel settings, and several other enhancements. All of these changes require adjustments to the curves in the sound banks.

Hello everyone!

I am very pleased to introduce the new SFX FH13 D13K 460 Euro6 sound package.

For context, the Volvo FH4 models equipped with this engine were produced between 2013 and 2016. These early D13K units featured individual unit injectors for each cylinder, giving them a more "old-school," authentic sound compared to the later 2016 models that transitioned to the Common Rail fuel system.

I have put a tremendous amount of effort into capturing the most accurate and realistic sound of this engine, and I truly hope you enjoy the result!

Important update for my customers:

If you purchased this sound pack prior to 2021, you are entitled to a free update starting today. This is an entirely new package, recorded from scratch.

What’s next?

My goal is to release new sound packs weekly, and I am working hard to make that happen. There are many exciting releases on the horizon, and I will be sharing more news and teasers very soon.

Additionally, I am releasing minor updates for both the FH500 and Renault Premium sound packages today.

Hello everyone,

My team and I are excited to release this update. Please accept our apologies for the slight delay.

Recent updates from SCS Software have brought significant changes to sound behavior, automatic transmission shifting, and various other aspects of the game. In update 1.58, for the first time since the implementation of FMOD in 2020, the developers substantially altered the priority of traffic and other ambient sounds. This affected the audio engine in the game and, consequently, all sound modifications. I have had to readjust the priority for many sounds that previously held standard priority.

Everything is working smoothly now, and I hope it stays that way moving forward.

Additionally, the developers changed the way automatic transmissions function. This caused existing engine definition parameters to behave incorrectly, so all shifting configurations had to be removed. As a result, gear shifting in all trucks is now much better than it was before.

The only thing I miss is the specific rev-matching behavior when downshifting that we had in updates 1.56–1.57. I really enjoyed that shifting style while driving the Iveco Stralis AS1 and AS2 with the Stralis 420 Euro 5 sound pack, and especially with the Actros MP3 xx41. The rev-matching is now softer, as it was before, which, admittedly, doesn't sound quite as exciting.

The developers are currently experimenting a lot. The accelerator pedal settings were adjusted several times throughout updates 1.56–1.57, and this continues even in version 1.59. The current setup, with its responsive feel, works very well for older Euro 2–Euro 3 trucks.

I expect we will see plenty more changes of this nature in upcoming updates. This is hardly surprising, given that the game is being prepared for console release a massive undertaking. I fully understand and support these changes.

Today, on this wonderful Easter day, we are finally releasing the update for our sound packs for game version 1.58.

SCS Software has significantly changed the accelerator pedal curves, which required us to make numerous adjustments across our sounds. The main changes involve the engine curves, but we have also refined and reworked the turbocharger sounds, as well as the front truck sounds for the MAN TGX 440, Volvo FH500, and Renault Range T.

For the Volvo FH500, we’ve added new turbocharger sounds from the 2014 FH4 460. These sounds are a preview of the upcoming Volvo FH4 460 Euro 6 (2014) sound package. We are looking forward to hearing your feedback on these new additions.

Currently, we are also conducting thorough testing of sounds for Convoy mode to resolve a few technical issues. These fixes will be included in the next update.

We know you're all looking forward to new sound pack releases every Friday. As soon as we're able to maintain that release frequency, we’ll be sure to let you know. Rest assured, we will provide plenty of advance notice before any upcoming releases.

Answers to Your Requests (Roadmap): We receive many requests in comments, messages, and letters regarding trucks such as: Actros MP2, MP3, DAF XG+, XF 105, Volvo FH3, Magnum 2012, Scania Streamline R450, NextGen 440, 450, R580 (2007), and others.

Important: Most of these sound packages are currently in development or nearing completion. The only exception is the DAF XG+, for which the sounds have not yet been recorded.

Hello friends! Today, I am thrilled to announce the release of an update for all our sound packs, which are now fully compatible with the latest version of the game!

🔊 What's Changed? FMOD 2.03.09 & Compatibility

As you know, with the game update (specifically version 1.56), SCS Software migrated to the new FMOD version - 2.03.09. This was a major technical shift that we have been eagerly anticipating!

Because of this change, I had to convert and meticulously optimize all our existing, as well as future, sound packs to meet this new standard. The result is worth it: the sounds now work flawlessly and are even higher quality!

I'm happy to present an brand new sound pack for the Iveco Stralis AS2 420 Euro5.

I know that many people have been waiting for realistic sounds for the Stralis Euro5, and I've been working on this project for a long time.

The sounds were recorded according to our new standards: three separate sets of samples for three sides. As always, we recorded them during a real drive with a 20-ton load. I managed to capture all the necessary samples: engine sounds, two transmissions (the automatic and manual ZF16S) with corresponding interior sounds, as well as many other important samples specific to the Stralis AS2.

No need to write a lot-it's better to listen for yourself!

Transmission sounds will be added in the upcoming updates.

Sound Renault Premium DXi460 EEV Updated!

I'm happy to present the updated sound package for the Renault Premium DXi460 EEV!

This sound package is completely new. All samples were recorded from scratch to achieve the most realistic sound possible. I dedicated a lot of time to recording audio material while driving this truck under load. All the necessary sounds were captured, making the package as complete as possible.

Fan Operation Options: You can choose one of three modes for the engine cooling fan:

Operates up to 60 km/h

Constantly on

Compatibility with Renault Magnum: Thanks to the identical fan model, this package is also perfect for the Renault Magnum. It is especially compatible with versions from Knox_xss, SCS Software, and Magnum megamod (Magnum dxi).

New Releases for Renault Magnum: I'm planning to release several new and very exciting sound packages specifically for the Magnum megamod and the Magnum from Knox_xss very soon.

Sound Ford F-Max 1850T Euro6 Updated!

We're excited to announce that the updated Ford F-Max 1850T sound pack is now available! These are the same Ford F-Max 500 2019 sounds, but they've been completely reworked from original recordings, just like the MAN TGX 680 V8, to meet our new quality standards.

These two sound packs are the only ones that have been re-engineered and re-released. All subsequent updates will be based on completely new recordings.

We're already working on upcoming sound packs, including the Renault Premium DXi460 EEV, Iveco Stralis 420 Euro5, Renault Range T460, and many more.

Today, I'm thrilled to present a new update for all five sound packs, now fully compatible with game versions 1.54-1.55. I've been participating in the Experimental_beta 1.55 testing since its very first day. It's important to note that the game's sound component and def files currently remain unchanged, which ensures compatibility of these sound packs with previous game versions as well.

By the way, some of you might not know that the MP4 xx45 sound pack will eventually include separate sound packs for MP4 xx45 Euro6 and MP5 xx45 Euro6.

The same applies to the Volvo D13K 460 and D13K500 sound packs, which will feature 2014 and TC 2025 engine variants. You won't need to purchase these sound packs separately!

Hello, everyone!

In this update, the volume levels of the engine and other accompanying sounds have been mainly improved and balanced. Turn signals in all sound packs have also been adjusted; the intervals are now as accurate as in real trucks, literally down to milliseconds.

Now we will move on to releasing new sound packs. Expect a video on our YouTube channel in the coming days.

Update sound Iveco Stralis 480 Euro 6

Hello, everyone. In connection with the release of the new wonderful Iveco Stralis 2024, we decided to release an update of the Iveco Stralis 480 Euro6 2015' sound package. Our sound package is ideal for Hi-Way 2015-2017, XP and S-Way of the previous generation.

The new Iveco Stralis 2024 has a completely new XCursor engine that sounds different, the new truck is already available in Ukraine. As soon as we have the opportunity, we will definitely record it.  

The Truck noises SFX has also been updated. We added new interior noise options, improved aerodynamic noise, and fixed some bugs.

We will be releasing new updates for other sound packages in the near future.
